How I got interested in darting?
Updated: Jan 8, 2020
To be really honest, I started to play darts because of my ex who always brought me out to play during our free time. Ultimately, I grew a passion for it.
So you must be thinking how I even got exposed to Darts. I was out one day with my ex and friends, we were playing a game "701" and we were in pairs. For darters who know the rules well, we were in a "master-out" game, which means to say that we have to end the game with a bull, doubles or triples. (It's not easy for the first throw) Yet, I was able to end the game with a "double-16"!!
“Why not you try to practice darts? I believe you'll be able to play really well. Your strokes are there." One of them told me (Currently a proactive female Singapore darts representative)
I was really excited for the next game. Slowly, every time my friends wanted to play darts, I will join them with immerse excitement. That was when I decided that "I like playing darts".
As I used to work in a darts bistro, I was able to practice darts when there were no customers. That is also the place where everything happened. I started to meet darters who played much better than I, and started to make friends with them. Some even came in my life as a mentor! They then invited me to join their group for competitions and in-house games.

Ultimately, I was progressing really fast and was able to perform well during the competitions. However, due to more work and studies related commitments, I started to not have the time to practice darts or meet up with them, I drifted from darts (which I kinda hope I'm not too rusty at now!) eventually.
One of my greatest achievement was to be able to win a "Group Champion" for my home team shop, Darts Buddy, along with my supportive and amazing team members. I do hope to find the time for darts again soon.
